4Corners Knitting Expands
We are very excited to announce that our shop has grown. Thanks to all of the support of you,our dedicated customers, we are taking on the entire space, including the beautiful backroom. For those of you who remember, that is where 4Corners originated.
The really exciting news, however, is our dream of creating an Arts and Crafts Mall that will complement 4Corners. We are looking for hand-crafters (other than knitters) interested in establishing a permanent, year-round presence on Main Street. We are offering six to seven 4'x8' (approx) spaces for rent. The idea is to create a "mall" of sorts, featuring local crafters whose work would be available to the community year round.
Requirements:
We would love to hear from any and all of you who are interested. Please post here or come in and talk to us.
REMEMBER - CHRISTMAS IS COMING SOON!

Please join us as we celebrate World Wide Knit In Public Day on June 13, 2010.
KIP day was started in 2005 by Daniellle Landis as a way for knitter's to come to gether and emjoy each other's company. Knitting is such a solitary act that it’s easy to knit alone somewhere and sink into your work without thinking about all the other knitters out there. This a specific day to get out of your house and go to a local event (with your knitting in tow) just for you and people like you. Consider this a spark, to ignite a fire; getting all of the closeted knitters out into fresh air.
We would like you to join us as we try and bring together knitters (and crocheters) in our own community. We'll have raffles, prizes and free yarn to give away. Come out and meet your neighbors and share your love of stitching!
Check out our photo album for pictures of the places available for knitting around town.

Did you know that 4Corners carries knitting magazines?
Creative Knitting is one of our favorite magazines. Each issue is jam packed with wonderful projects, with an average of 25 projects in each issue. What a great value at just $5.99! We currently have the May 2010 issue in stock.
Cast On magazine is published by the Knitting Guild of America, and is a wonderful teaching magazine. Each issue focuses on a different technique and applies it to quite a few projects so you can practice your new skills. There are very detailed instructions for each step of every project. This is like having a personal knitting instructor at your side. The newest issue has just been delivered to the shop, and focuses on the knitted smocking technique, plus much more.
Stop in and check these magazines out. We're sure you'll find something you like. You can also get past issues for 20% off the cover price.

We have spruced up and expanded our Knitting Circle.
Thanks to the generous support from Claire of Tom's Treasures and new
chairs fromour great friend, Karen Rosler, we have transformed our
gathering space into a cozy, comfortable place to spend an hour or
several - knitting, pattern browsing, practicing, learning, dreaming
or just drinking coffee and schmoozing.
Come join us

The 4Corners Knitting crew has been busy this summer. We've participated in River Fest, held on Main Street in Narrowsburg; the first annual Fiber Festival which was held at Fort Delaware this year, and just this past labor day weekend, held an origami demonstration in celebration of Logging Days.
Check out some photos of these events in our photo gallery. We have also been written up in the Pike County Press which you can reade about here. And on the Cottage Works web site here.
Now we are looking forward to some relaxation and organizing our new class schedule for the fall. Please check back with us soon to see our class schedule and the new yarns we'll be getting in.

Looking forward to RiverFest in July got me to thinking about what I want to be making now that's it's summer. Something easy, quick, and cool to the touch certainly but then I thought something practical, useful, and clever, absolutely and then I thought something glitzy, sparkly, and scads of fun.
Here are some results and some works in progress.......
